Nick Pickles Quits X After Decade

(Reuters) – X’s global affairs head, Nick Pickles, announced on Thursday that he is leaving the social media company formerly known as Twitter after a decade.

Pickles, who joined in 2014, stated that he decided to leave several months ago and has been coordinating with CEO Linda Yaccarino during the transition.

“After more than ten years, tomorrow will be my last day at X. It’s been an incredible journey,” he shared.

Details about his future plans or the reasons for his departure have not been disclosed.

Neither Elon Musk’s X nor Nick Pickles responded to Reuters’ comments outside of regular business hours.

In June, Joe Benarroch, X’s head of business operations, also left the company, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Pickles began at X as a senior manager in their London office and became Vice President of Global Affairs in 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The Financial Times highlighted that he served as the company’s spokesperson during conflicts with various governments, including a recent case in Brazil, where access to the network was suspended after X missed a court-imposed deadline to name a legal representative.

Elon Musk has claimed that Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes is imposing unjustified censorship, while the judge insists that X must adhere to hate speech regulations.
