BitPanda Expands into MENA with UAE License
BitPanda, a regulated crypto assets platform in Europe, has extended its presence in the MENA region by obtaining a license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). With this new crypto brokerage license, BitPanda can now serve both retail and institutional investor clients in the UAE.
UAE clients will have access to over 500 crypto assets on BitPanda, making it the 17th crypto broker to be licensed by VARA.
Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad, Deputy CEO at Bitpanda Group, emphasized the importance of ensuring that investors and financial institutions have access to a compliant digital asset platform. He stated, “This is just the beginning of our expansion beyond Europe. We are ready to grow in a region that embraces innovation and regulation equally.”
Nadeem Ladki, Global Head of Bitpanda Technology Solutions, reaffirmed the exchange’s focus on providing innovative secure solutions, stating, “We have more exciting developments to share in the near future.”
With an office located in Dubai’s DMCC Crypto Centre, BitPanda is working to tailor its products to the UAE market and plans to start onboarding UAE investors in the upcoming months.
BitPanda Shares Confidence After License Approval
According to Fabian Reinisch, General Counsel at Bitpanda Group, the company received approval in record time, reflecting their decade-long experience in the digital asset space and commitment to high regulatory standards. Preliminary approval from VARA was granted back in December 2024.
BitPanda holds several licenses in Europe, including a MiCAR license from the German regulator BaFin, registration with the UK’s FCA, a PSD2 e-money license, a MiFID II license, and VASP registrations across various markets.
